    Celebrating 26 years of artistic excellence, Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center hosts the anticipated annual Festival of Fine Craft on October 4 and 5, rain or shine! This crowd-favorite event features the work of over 150 juried contemporary and traditional artists, unique artist demonstrations, a Beer & Wine Garden, family art activities, WheatonArts signature Glass Pumpkin Fundraiser, live musical entertainment, and more! Throughout the WheatonArts campus, visitors can engage with a diverse community of artists exhibiting and selling their handcrafted works of art. From inspired paintings, decorative ceramics, and novel jewelry to innovative wood sculptures and vibrant wearables, the Festival offers interesting one-of-a-kind treasures for everyone! Some of the artist demonstrations for this year include basket making, woodturning, intaglio etching, copper flame painting, and more! Everyone can experience the creative process with additional complementary art-making activities thanks to a special PNC Arts Alive grant. Other fee-based artistic hands-on opportunities will also be available throughout the grounds.     Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center is offering two free late Wednesdays this summer on July 16 and August 20. Experience the grounds for the extended hours of 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be free art activities for the whole family to enjoy and design contests in the Glass and Pottery Studios. Step inside the Museum of American Glass for special exhibit tours, visit the Folklife Center for special programming, participate in a campus-wide scavenger hunt, hear live music, enjoy a bite to eat, and more.   • Fire Muster

    The 44th annual Fire Muster & Fire Fighter’s Family Day, presented by the Glasstown Antique Fire Brigade, will take place at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Explore over 80 antique fire trucks from the Mid-Atlantic States on display through the WheatonArts campus. This year, the fire truck used during the episode Peyton’s Places: The Santa Game will be out for presentation! The truck featured in the segment is a very rare 1961 Ward LaFrance Firebrand model. The FireBrand was introduced in 1960 and manufactured for just under 3 years by Ward LaFrance, located in Elmira Heights, New York. With only 109 Firebrands manufactured, few are known to remain in running condition. This truck and its sister truck are part of Glasstown Antique Fire Brigade member John Burzichellis' Ward LaFrance collection. Visitors will be able to take pictures as they climb aboard the fire truck and stand in the same spot as Peyton Manning did during the episode.     Time-travel through treasures and trinkets at the annual Antique & Summer Market at Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center on Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27, 2025, rain or shine! Open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, this indoor/outdoor event features a standout collection of Antique Dealers from the Mid-Atlantic area showcasing a wide selection of books, ceramics, furniture, glass, jewelry, memorabilia, toys, vintage accessories, and more. Enjoy a variety of local artists and craftspeople representing a mixture of mediums, along with food vendors and farm market proprietors on the grounds. Visitors can also explore the Museum of American Glass, the Down Jersey Folklife Center, Artist Studios (Hot Glass, Pottery, and Flameworking), Museum Stores, and the Nature Trail during the event! Everyone is welcome to experience the creative process with complimentary hands-on Family Art Activities, including finger knitting, jellyfish, and wrapped-yarn butterflies. Everyone is invited to come dressed in their favorite fantasy garbs to enjoy a variety of live performances and sword demonstrations, engage in free family art activities, play pirate games, shop the merchants' alley, and so much more!   • Summer Meet the Artists Sip and Shop

    The Museum Stores and the Museum of American Glass are staying open late for a free Summer Sip and Shop event. Join us for a relaxing summer evening at WheatonArts to meet the resident artists and shop their latest work. Enjoy light refreshments while you browse unique pieces of glass and pottery, listen to live music, and view this season’s new contemporary glass exhibits. During the Summer Sip and Shop, only the Museum Stores and the Museum of American Glass will be open. The rest of the campus will be closing at 4 p.m. Door Prizes throughout the evening.
