Historic Smithville 4th of July Parade

More than 170 units will participate in the Fourth of July parade kicking off at 9:00 a.m., making it the largest of its kind by number of units according to organizers. The parade will travel east on Smithville Boulevard to Moss Mill Road, then west to Historic Smithville, and could take nearly two hours to pass any point along the route, where up to 10,000 spectators are expected. The event will conclude with an Independence Day ceremony at Smithville’s Village Greene honoring women who have served, as well as police and all service members. Organizers expressed excitement over the parade’s continued growth and community support. Staging begins at 7:45 a.m., traffic closures start at 8:30 a.m., and no same-day registration will be accepted.
