America 250 AR Art & History Tour Jersey City

America 250 AR (Augmented Reality) Art & History Tour is a first-of-its-kind immersive public experience in Jersey City, transforming historic locations into interactive AR encounters. Created by Trish Gianakis, the project blends public art, AR, and history, bringing American history to life through innovative, accessible storytelling that engages diverse communities. Visitors can access each experience by scanning QR codes on-site using their smartphones—no app required. Site Experiences are: The Battle of Paulus Hook, Saint Peter’s University, Statue of Liberty, Apple Tree House – Jersey City Museum, and Echoes of Freedom AR Art Exhibition at Liberty State Park.

Locations: The Battle of Paulus Hook (1779)

An immersive AR reconstruction of the Revolutionary War raid led by Major Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee. Visitors witness strategic movement, military tension, and the significance of this pivotal Jersey City event within the larger struggle for independence. The Apple Tree House (Van Wagenen House)

The Statue of Liberty

Echoes of Freedom Liberty State Park AR Art Exhibition

A curated outdoor augmented reality exhibition featuring contemporary artists whose works respond to themes of freedom, history, and environmental presence.
