Announces 2025 Advocacy Day
Thursday, May 8
at the War Memorial in Trenton

NJTIA’s Advocacy Day brings the New Jersey tourism community together to celebrate the

Garden State’s vibrant tourism landscape 

Trenton, NJ – April XX, 2025 – The New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA)
announces that its annual Advocacy Day will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 10 a.m.
to 1 p.m. at the War Memorial, 1 Memorial Drive, Trenton, NJ.


This event brings together tourism professionals, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss
the future of New Jersey’s tourism industry. In addition to insightful discussions, and
presentations, NJTIA will honor legislators and tourism professionals for their outstanding
advocacy efforts and contributions to the industry. Attendees will gain valuable insights into
legislative updates and industry trends while networking with colleagues and decision-makers
who shape the tourism landscape in New Jersey.

The 2025 Jim Whelan Memorial Tourism Award winner, recognizing an individual or
organization’s unwavering dedication to advancing New Jersey tourism, will be announced.
Named in memory of the late Jim Whelan, a stalwart advocate for New Jersey’s tourism
industry, this award honors those who mirror Whelan’s spirit of passion, innovation, and
commitment.

tourism industry. From local businesses to statewide organizations and associations, everyone
plays a role in creating unforgettable experiences for our visitors. NJTIA’s Advocacy Day reflects
our shared commitment to growing tourism, supporting jobs, and highlighting everything that
makes the Garden State a top destination,” said Ben Rose, NJTIA President.


The New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA) is a nonprofit trade organization
dedicated to advocating for New Jersey’s tourism industry. Representing a broad spectrum of
stakeholders, including Destination Marketing Organizations(DMO’s), trade associations,
chambers of commerce, and businesses, NJTIA works to secure increased government support
for tourism by educating officials on its economic benefits and its vital role in enhancing the
quality of life for New Jersey residents. NJTIA hosts the annual New Jersey Conference on
Tourism and the prestigious Tourism Excellence Awards, which celebrate those delivering
exceptional visitor experiences. Members enjoy access to educational and communication
programs, private sector marketing initiatives, and a voice in governmental affairs efforts.
