NJTIA Members Champion New Jersey Tourism on Capitol Hill

NJTIA members Adam Perle, Jennifer M. Costa, Alexis Bailey and Dr. Rev. Wanda Lundy continue their strong advocacy for New Jersey’s tourism industry during the Destination Capitol Hill In Washington, DC. They meet with many legislators and staff including Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill to discuss our work as we push for policies that support a thriving, world-class tourism experience in the Garden State.

NJTIA Testifies on Tourism Opportunities Ahead of America250
March 2025
In March, the Assembly Tourism, Gaming and the Arts Committee met at the Monmouth Battlefield
Visitor Center in Manalapan, NJ, to hear testimony on the upcoming semiquincentennial celebration of
the United States’ independence. Representing the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA),
Craig Schlosser—NJTIA Board Member and Co-Chair of First Night Morris—delivered remarks
emphasizing the once-in-a-generation opportunity that America250 presents for New Jersey’s tourism
industry. Schlosser highlighted the importance of statewide collaboration, strategic planning, and
community-driven events to showcase New Jersey’s rich history and diverse destinations. His testimony
underscored NJTIA’s commitment to ensuring that tourism plays a central role in commemorating the
nation’s 250th anniversary.

NJTIA Blooms at the Philadelphia Flower Show, Showcasing New Jersey’s Natural Beauty and TourismAppeal

This year, the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA) proudly participated in the Philadelphia
Flower Show, the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event. NJTIA’s exhibit served as a
vibrant celebration of the Garden State, showcasing the full spectrum of New Jersey tourism—including
its parks and gardens, arts and culture, coastal destinations, wineries, outdoor adventures, and historic
landmarks. With strong representation from tourism partners across all regions of the state, the display
invited thousands of attendees to discover everything New Jersey has to offer. The show provided an
outstanding platform to promote statewide attractions, inspire travel, and reinforce New Jersey’s appeal
as a dynamic and diverse year-round destination.

NJTIA Promotes the Garden State at the Washington, D.C. Travel & Adventure Show

In March, the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA) proudly participated in the Washington,
D.C. Travel & Adventure Show, one of the premier consumer travel events in the country. Representing
the Garden State, NJTIA connected directly with thousands of enthusiastic travelers, tour operators, and
media professionals, showcasing New Jersey’s diverse destinations—from its scenic coastline and
cultural attractions to outdoor adventures and historic landmarks. The event provided an invaluable
opportunity to promote the state as a must-visit destination, build partnerships, and share the unique
experiences that make New Jersey a standout in the regional and national tourism landscape.

friendly destinations. With strong representation from tourism partners across New Jersey, the booth
highlighted the state’s diversity, accessibility, and year-round appeal, reinforcing New Jersey as a top

NJTIA’s Annual Conference on Tourism

Nearly 300 tourism professionals came together at the NJTIA Conference for a dynamic day of networking, industry insights, and innovative discussions on advancing New Jersey’s tourism sector. Attendees engaged in expert-led sessions, explored new opportunities for collaboration, and celebrated the industry’s achievements, all while shaping the future of travel and hospitality in the Garden State.”

2024 NJ League of Municipalities
November 2024
NJTIA members Alexis Bailey, Michael Snyder and Ashley Abruzzo along with Mayor David Fleisher, Ron Simoncini and Brady O’Connor proudly spoke at the 2024 NJ League of Municipalities sharing insights on preparing for World Cup 2026 and America’s 250th Anniversary celebrations. These large-scale events will showcase New Jersey’s vibrant culture and drive economic growth, solidifying our state as a premier tourism destination.

NJTIA Meets with FIFA World Cup 26 Team

The NJTIA Board of Directors met with Lauren Nathan LaRusso, FIFA World Cup 26 Co-Host City Manager and General Counsel and Executive Director Jeff Vasser, New Jersey Division of Travel & Tourism to discuss the upcoming and monumental 2026 FIFA World Cup that is expected to bring $2B+ in economic impact in NJ and NY along with 14,000+ jobs to support the events and over 1 million visitors to our region. Advocacy Day
May 2024
NJTIA Advocacy Day on May 16 brought together tourism professionals to champion the industry and engage with state legislators on key issues affecting New Jersey’s travel economy. This year, NJTIA proudly honored Senator Vin Gopal and Assemblyman McCleland as the 2024 Legislators of the Year for their outstanding commitment to strengthening and advancing the state’s tourism sector. Their leadership and dedication have played a vital role in supporting policies that enhance New Jersey’s vibrant travel and hospitality landscape. The event provided a valuable platform for industry leaders to advocate for tourism initiatives and celebrate the champions shaping its future.
